Whether stepping down from a higher level of care, or seeking added support to live independently, our recovery-oriented coaching team provides support, guidance, and accountability in a non-judgmental and compassionate environment.
Walden Living is an opportunity to practice the recovery skills learned in treatment, as well as develop the essential life skills necessary for growth and independence. Regular community involvement and coaching offer our clients the ability to integrate and practice recovery on a daily basis. Collaboration, observation, and strengths-based feedback are essential aspects of the coaching role, as clients take an active role in working toward their personal goals.
The Walden Experience is designed as an opportunity for client’s to practice and integrate real-life recovery skills and treatment goals into their daily lives with guidance and accountability from our personal coaches. Collaboration, observation, respect, and strengths-based feedback are essential aspects of the coaching role. Coaches provide support as each client takes an active role in their own recovery through the development of life skills and by working toward their personal goals.
Coaching for Eating Disorders
Walden Living offers a comprehensive and collaborative approach to independence. Our Personal Coaches receive instruction by nationally recognized experts in the mental health field and work closely with outpatient treatment providers for each client. Our eating disorder coaching provides a specialized and self-directed approach to recovery. From support with grocery shopping and cooking to the development of hobbies and interests, coaching is tailored to each individual. Walden Living works with multiple levels of treatment, including partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient treatment, and individual outpatient treatment.
Created by Dr. Theodore Weltzin, a nationally recognized treatment pioneer for eating disorders and anxiety disorders, Walden provides an opportunity for personal growth and the gradual transition to independence. Our transitional living program focuses on the development of life skills to build confidence, improve quality of life, and create positive change. Our recovery oriented model aims to improve client’s sense of self. Walden Living believes that specialized treatment should be accessible in an environment that allows individuals to practice recovery in real-life situations.
Coaching for Anxiety and Depressive Disorders
Depression and anxiety disorders, including obsessive compulsive disorder and social phobia, like eating disorders, are best treated by clinicians with specialized training. People with depression and anxiety disorders can greatly benefit by focusing on improving life skills, particularly relating to integrating into a community setting as a way to improve quality of life.
Walden Living’s recovery oriented living environment is ideal for providing services for individuals struggling with depression, anxiety disorders and obsessive compulsive disorder. Our Personal Coaches provide accountability, support and assistance for clients to integrate treatment recommendations into their daily life. Following guidance from an outpatient treatment team, we work with each client to create accountability to follow through with personalized goals, facilitating community and social involvement and reengaging in leisure activities, school and work.
